What This Means for You
The library remains open, and services will continue
We are committed to maintaining borrowing, returns, programs and community access throughout the transition. The current building will remain open while planning continues, with additional cleaning and monitoring measures in place.
Things may look a little different
Some programs, collections and spaces may change while we operate from the new location.
This is part of a longer journey
While this move was not part of the original plan, it provides an opportunity to begin the transition toward a new purpose-built Library within the future James Street Cultural Precinct.
What's Staying the Same
- Friendly Library staff
- Our programs and activities
- Access to books and resources
- A welcoming community space
