The Shire of Esperance is excited to announce our commitment to revitalising the town entry sign with a welcoming and interactive design that embodies our community's stunning natural beauty and spirit.
Following extensive feedback from our residents through the Esperance Town Entry Signage poll, we are thrilled to share that the Council has selected the "Welcome to Esperance" design, which emerged as the clear favourite.
We are now moving forward with the formal design and cost assessments for this important project.
Approved Locations:
Coolgardie Esperance Highway – The new sign will replace the current one located approx. 6km north of Esperance.
South Coast Highway – a new sign will be installed appox. 900m West of Bukenerup Road.
Currently requesting quotes for the construction of the signs. Estimate that the signs will be installed by mid-2026.
These thoughtfully designed signs will feature materials such as wood and metal that not only enhance the visual appeal but also age gracefully over time. Set amidst carefully curated trees and landscaping, the metal elements will align beautifully with the entry signs of Salmon Gums and Grass Patch, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere throughout our region. Additionally, the wood components will make use of timbers from Tanker Jetty, seamlessly blending local heritage into our community's welcoming narrative.
Together, we are shaping a gateway that reflects our pride and commitment to Esperance, inviting all who visit to experience the warmth and charm of our beloved town.
